Location: Scout Hut in Conigar Road, Emsworth
Drake Cub Pack - Thursday from 7.00 - 8.30 pm
Livingstone Cub Pack - Tuesday from 7.00 - 8.30 pm
Age group 8 - 10 years.
Drake Pack is named after that very famous “pirate”, favourite
of good Queen Bess and the scourge of the Spanish. His exploits are an
example for our Cub Pack to follow!
Most packs have 4 Jacks, we have 5!! The pack is hovering on the 30 boys
mark so we are full and we now have 5 sixes.
We have four wonderful Leaders with over 70 years of Scouting experience
between us: myself, Hilary Walker (Chil), Peter Britton (Kaa) and Jack
Patten (Mohgli) an old Drake cub. Parents are often called into help and
they have a lovely time with us.
General Activities
The Pack works hard at gaining Activity and Cub Challenge badges.
The Craig Whittaker Drake Pack Challenge Trophy is fought for every six
months. There are two competitions: Conker Challenge and Most Good Turns
Competition.
We help the community. The boys run the coconut shy at the Emsworth show
and at the St Anne’s Charity fete.
Camps and the outdoors
There are generally 3 camps during the year. The Rough Camp in June, the
Pack Summer Camp and the September Group camp. The Pack participates in
the District 6 aside football competition, the District Orienteering and
any other outside events we can find.
Social Activities
We have two social events each year: the Halloween and Christmas Fancy
Dress parties.
